Father Randy Timmerman

On July 13, 2013, I returned to Saint Dennis Parish as pastor. Having had four wonderful years as the associate pastor (1995-1999), I continue to give thanks for the gift of priesthood and more so how the people of Saint Dennis are now ‘making a pastor out of me.’

It was in 1995 that I embraced a personal mission statement. It reads “A beloved son of God, called to serve, through prayer, preaching and presence, for the life of the world.” Years later it continued to be a place of gratitude and accountability for me. I pray regularly and often for the gift of preaching and have come to understand the great value of being present in the many and varied opportunities of priestly ministry.

I was born on the southeastern coast of India and first came to the United States in 2003 to minister in Scranton, PA. It is a privilege to be able to serve Jesus and His people at Saint Dennis parish. My hope is to help people, pray over them and do work in the school. It is my desire to reach many people, especially through the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and blessing homes.

On July 23, 2004, I was ordained a Deacon in the Catholic church.  It has been a wild, exciting, and rewarding calling so far and I look forward each day to see what God has in store for me next.  I enjoy being married to the best friend I have ever had, my work in youth ministry, preaching, all my duties as a Deacon, my relationship with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, hiking, exercising and keeping my body and mind fit, being a father to my two adult daughters, and I love, absolutely love, being a grandpa.

I enjoy interacting in the many ways I experience family; my Saint Dennis Parish family, my own family of siblings, nieces and nephews and their families, and my Sinsinawa Dominican family. Time for reading, reflecting and praying is also important to me.

My hobbies include walking, hiking, physical fitness and reading.
